The first time I met John Mayall was wonderful, he was friendly, kind and easy to talk with. It was at a festival in the United States while I was on tour with the Blues Caravan with Ruf Records and I was so eager to catch John's show and to meet him that day. The photo seen here that day says it all. The next time I met him was not as easy or fun and he was like a different person, but I still enjoyed the chance to sing with him on stage during the end of the festival jam session at the Mahindra Blues Festival in Mumbai, India. Nonetheless, the man was a legend in the british blues scene and so today we remember him and wish him a great gig in the sky. RIP John Mayall.
